Grants and Programs Overview

The combined generosity of CFA Society Atlanta members and our corporate donors enables us to support nonprofit organizations in the community that align with our mission of providing life-long learning and development in financial and investment knowledge to contribute to the stability and success of people in our community.

We leverage our financial support with volunteer efforts of our members who use their professional experience and expertise to help others find financial stability and success.

“Our partnership with the ASFIP Foundation has played a pivotal role in equipping Atlanta’s next generation of leaders with essential financial literacy skills. Through the generosity of the grants and their volunteers, they have impacted nearly 1,000 high school students, providing hands-on financial education, interactive workshops with diverse professionals, and resources like The Missing Semester book, equipping them with essential money management skills. We’re grateful for their support ensuring all students have equitable access to high level leadership, career and life ready skills training, empowering them with the knowledge and confidence to navigate their financial futures responsibly.”
– Kate Hewitt, 21st Century Leaders

“Thanks to the generous financial and volunteer support of ASFIP, Girl Scouts welcomed nearly 1,100 girls and families to Cookie Rally in December, helping girls as young as 5 years old prepare for the 2025 Cookie Season. ASFIP volunteers led the “Money Matters” helping girls learn financial literacy skills like how to make smart choices, spend and save, budget and set goals, explore jobs and how to earn income and finally what the difference between savings and investing is. Girl Scouts has also continued to partner with ASFIP to give girls a behind-the-scenes tour of The Federal Reserve. Your financial support is fueling the next generation of CFA’s by allowing girls to see what is possible in the world of finance.”
Liz Loreti, Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta

“Grants provided by ASFIP make a meaningful difference in supporting BCM Georgia’s mission to prevent families and individuals from becoming homeless. We serve vulnerable neighbors across Metro Atlanta through three programs: Budget for Life, Foundation 3, and Emergency Assistance. In our fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, we will support nearly 1100 households who are facing housing insecurity by helping them through crisis, financial education and budgeting, and life skills. This year 50 low income families will be served in our Budget for Life program. This intensive 12-month program requires weekly case management work, group coaching, and homework in between sessions. A client who just graduated the program in December shared: Budget for Life “has positively affected my relationship with money. I am more aware with my overall finances and purchases”. She also states that she is holding “myself accountable by analyzing my needs versus my wants” and has paid off more than $9,400 in debts.”
Nancy Davis, BCM Georgia

“Over the past three years, we’ve been fortunate to partner with the ASFIP/CFA Society to host a Personal Management Merit Badge Day. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of ASFIP/CFA volunteers, Atlanta Area Council Volunteers, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, we’ve educated 140 Scouts each year—reaching a total of 420 Scouts. The Personal Management Merit Badge is an essential Eagle-required badge. Moreover, through this badge, Scouts gain valuable insights related to personal finance, budgeting, and financial planning—skills that will serve them well throughout their lives.  Through your generous sponsorship, which funded our Capital Campaign, significant investments were made to enhance properties, creating engaging learning experiences that attract and retain families and volunteers. Additionally, funds strengthened Scouting programs across Metro-Atlanta and expanded outreach to underserved communities.”
Christopher DeRose, Atlanta Area Council, Scouting America

“Servant stars aligned with the recent partnership between ASFIP Foundation and The Orange Duffel Bag Initiative (ODBI). ASFIP’s mission to help our community thrive by providing financial education speaks to the heart of ODBI’s work to coach students in needto achieve education and financial stability. Since 2011, 2200+ high school and college students, experiencing homelessness or foster care, have graduated ODBI’s 12-session curriculum that includes a strong emphasis on education achievement and financial literacy, the surest pathway out of poverty for underserved populations. With ASFIP’s generous support, students are provided with life coaching to delve into topics such as My Financial EducationLet’s Talk Money: Creating a Budget, financial- and education focused SMART goals, Reality Check using JumpStart, YouScience assessment, and regular review of Improving My Finances. ODBI programs are always at no cost to participants, and each program grad becomes a lifetime member of Team Orange, a family of peers, professionals, and volunteers, dedicated to supporting and celebrating their success. Thanks to ASFIP, young adults in need achieve and succeed!”
Michael Daly, President, The Orange Duffel Bag Initiative

“The partnership between United Way of Greater Atlanta and ASFIP Foundation has been impactful for our work in offering emergency savings programs where we offer matched savings and financial education. Our outstanding partners like Frontline Housing and Center for Family Resources find their educational efforts being enhanced because of the resources made available through the AFSIP foundation. The short but insightful videos on various subjects have been particularly useful and the material is offered to all the families who are interested in further learning.”
